loving the results. its isnt a 100% replica though but this will be as close as it gets.
spend 3 days masking, cutting, measuring,etc (all that black is painted, the tamiya bodyshell didnt came with any stickers,etc :S )
its all worth it imho.

all thats left is to stick those sponser stickers and its all done :) might have to custom print them tho but we'll see

I always tot it was ugly n never flows with the car bodyline, up until last few weeks bfore raya i cracked it after hitting a speedbump n said to myself 'damned i really need to pull that valance out' and now finally have the guts to remove the it :D All thx to thanks dad for the help.

since it was riveted/cemented on there, powerdrill/hammer and also some brute force is definitely needed. this is where my dad helps in as i dnt have enough courage to drill n hammer my car alone lol..

looks far better IMHO
theres abit of crack in the paintjob and also rivet holes on both sides but for the moment im just gonna leave it as it is since its not really visible anyways.
(and also because proper paint is expensive... T_T)

I've also done the wiring for the front running/blinker lights up front but i dnt have any picture of it. I'll update on u guys again tmorrow

now on the search for the kouki 180sx rear valance

spend my first day of smester break working on my car, finally some progress on this :)

Bumper fresh from the oven, woot

oh the mettalic <3
they did an awesome job with the paintwork.
sadly its expensive n broke my wallet in half T_T sigh nda pa2 lh bukan selalu..

abit of surface rust on the bumper bracket, no worries
all sanded and painted

now i understand why drifters use zipties x/
damn there are like 20+ bolts i need to remove just to pull that bumper out. Alot of the bolt are seized (due to its age) thankfully i have some wd40 laying around.
Some of them are in pretty bad shape so i swapped those with some leftover bolts i had with my previous halfcut.

noticed the crash bar/support is in red? thats the original paint of this car when it rolled out of the dealership many moons ago. its been through alot of color changes before and now it sticks to this metallic beige. Im not particularly fond of this color but my parents like it and it doesnt attract much attention (with the authorities) like other bright/bold colors do :)
note to anyone who is going with the kouki route; u need to grind off the bit that sticks out of the each end of the bumper support so that it fits.

after spending the whole day
the finished product, overall overly excited with this new looks. the first kouki 180sx in Brunei~
ooo yeaahhh ^^,

i thought it won't look great without the kouki lip but seeing it now, i think i can live with it :D doesnt look all bad. And it flows well with my veilside sidestep woot!~
I wanna say a huge thx for my dad for helping me with todays work and for my bro for the helping hand. progress wouldnt go anywhere without u guys :)

still have to wire the running/blinker lights but i'll have a go on it tmorrow

and i'll take better pics of it after giving it a wash :p

apparently the owner just left the car at the workshop for years now..
such a waste of a good car, shouldve just sell it if u dnt want it, heck even if its not running ppl would still buy it.
since after all this years he still not letting this car go, i guessing he had good plans for it :)

PEMKAR EP 2nd series was held today at Taman Jublee at Bandar. Decided to join for the first time (for drift touring class btw) since my other teamates is joining too. Thx Jalie and Najib for borrowing me ur esc and Lippo :)

The really big track. Being honest i actually never play on a track that big but nevertheless it was really fun. and nerves really got to me on the final heat lol

manage to get 7th place A-main with only 1 point difference with the 5th and 6th place winner. And another 2 point difference with the 4th place winner above ^^ (my teammate-Asri)
Quite satisfied with the results since its my first time joining and my cars was in pieces earlier on the the day of the event. Definitely will join the next upcoming race

at least i managed to test my tt01, which runs superb

cs drifting is definetly the way to go but i u want to experience close high speed tandems in an open large track, better leave it 50/50..
after more than half year running cs setup, it definetly improves my control n reflexes, playing normal drift was like..a walk in the park lol
sooo much less things to control..

since theres no upcoming tournament this month,
i think is should leave it 50/50 for the time being :)

oh hello world~ been some time since my last update :)
the thing is that my laptop's been hit by a virus (a total of 27 of them LOL) so all this time ive been surfing through my phone, hence no update
(im quite active in fb though..hee)

Also we have finished our art exhibition which was held at cH just before our exams.

And yeah exam -_- which thank god also finished already. And now im having a very looonng smester break~

here some updates:

after a long wait my engine swap is finally finished. Couldnt hide the huge smile on my face while driving it :D

tidied up the engine bay abit, what do u think? need to respray the intake piping n bay though.

Added a few stuff to it this past few weeks, cars coming along nicely~
interior and engine is 80% finished. after that i'll tackle the exterior :)

really a huge turnout, didnt quite remember how much exactly but if im not mistaken more than 40 ppl joining
and the track layout was really nice, catering for us cs drifters

i didnt get to the top 16 though, it was really hard battling for spot with drifters which mostly are still 50/50 drifting..

but i did get the best bodyshell award :D

And i won myself a new bodyshell ^^ new project perhaps hee

To kick of my first ever car spotlight, let me introduce you to among the best styled Honda's around, Azmey eg8 and Azree's 4th gen. prelude

'Although both civic and prelude chassis is nearly two decades old, they are still incredibly popular, and a big reason for this is how versatile they are'

two Hondas each with a very distinctive style.

Azmey usdm styled eg and Azree's jdm styled prelude. Both cars packed with all the jdm stuff that i myself will never know lol

Simple yet soo classy

Looking clean as usual with its freshly painted red bay

Azmey owned a few other civics before this and his current eg, although not completely finished yet, is one of the best 'Clean' examples around.

Its still sporting its original 1.5 carburettor engine atm but in the near future he's planning to drop in an b-series engine in there. can't wait :D

Azree's Prelude on the other hand is powered by the H22 engine with a manual swapped tranny.

Now thats a really nice engine bay don't u think :)

both Azmey and Azree is currently setting up business to anyone who is interested in painting up their cars engine bay. Examples of their work is what u see here.

1) Not feeling really well, must be something i ate..paning!!!

2) My cars not finished yet, the longshaft/lsd is still somewhere in miri..F**K

3) Broke, got no more than $10 in my wallet..got none elsewhere..i swear..and its still in the early month on april.. thousands already spend on the car..

4) all my assignment not finished yet..Graphic design group/individual, AKB, Sculpture and we dnt even started our group geography work yet!!!gahhhh due date is nxt 1/2 weeks!!!

5) Study abroad programme.. the one yg mbuat ku stress gila bnr..

firstly i was totally heartbroken when i didn't get the pick to go to uk..well i guess all those hard work doing artworks in class, joining those art exhibitions/competition, and heck, even organizing an art club/exhibitions isn't good enough for the lecturers to choose me..all they care about is our overall cgpa, which nearly half of it is not related to art at all!!

well..all i could blame is..me..

and now thailand..

u wouldn't know how sad i am being sent there alone. A lot of people said that its a great opportunity and i should grab hold of it. But the problem is that im going to be there alone!!

Engine finally in, aku tah pulang ndangani masukkan engine lol bleh dh jadi mecanic nda bertauliah ni

change a few oil seals, axle bearing, new beltings and clutch lining before putting the engine n box in. Hopefully tmorrow some of the stuff (that should have already been here) arrives. If not id be totally pissed off >:/

dashboard, axle, dash cluster, ic piping, carpet, pedals, wiring,ecu and more gaahhh!!!

engine fully stripped..Amazed on how fast they are working. At this kind of rate it will only took them a week to finish the job :D i like hehe

compressor helps a lot in cleaning :p noticed the manual gearbox?hehehe

shouldve start putting the new engine in right away but still waiting for few more parts to come by and needed to be replaced. at the mean time, we started to clean the engine, transmission and bay, as it is much easier to clean them outside the car

. looking all clean now :D (no pic of the engine btw)

this engine needs a new owner. contact me if anyone is interested :) 1 got 2 of these lying around hehe

Comments: Runs really well now on tile, smooth long drift and easy switchback. Constant Countersteer and Play with throttle most of the time to maintain drift angle. But on road surface really different. Switchback snaps so hard thus a lot oversteer. Need to play with Caster angle and front chamber a bit more. Also with tire compound and wheel offset

Finally i can experience more than 51% of cs, after six months of ownership yahoo!!~

looks stock doesn't it?hhe

i cut the center pulley holder in half with an angle grinder/manual grinder to make way for the square 12T pulley. also make a nudge on the..metal rod?(don't know the name hha) for the little 12t pulley screw to hold on to.

So u guys might be wondering, why retain the center pulley holder if u can just buy 18t, 20t,etc square pulley? well firstly with this i can use 16t,18t from tamiya ta05 and 21t,22t from sakura zero. Direct fit with no mods. vdf center pulley holder are also well made which not only held down by screws, but also a small metal rod which goes into the..another metal rod (payah kan explain bro hha) which basically means no slippage in the rear enter pulley, which is very important for reliability.

and also square pulley are very expensive, and cannot be bought off the shelf here in Brunei.(up until recently that is)

39t HB pulley on tamiya ta05 one-way

12t Square pulley

rear

34t x-ray pulley on solid axle

21t sakura pulley

which gives me 2.05 cs ratio

test run it yesterday on tile surface and to be honest, too much overdrive for me to handle. hard to maintain the drift an the car keep trying so much to oversteer, even with low rebound rear shock for high traction setup..emm...i think i need me a 8degree caster front hub carrier

ordered those pulley holder and belts ages ago (oct last year if im not mistaken) now barutah ada!!, ku fikir lupa dorang kn ngoderkn ah. heck aku pn nda ingat hahaha

mari kita modify~

so i'll be using

start playing rc back today with my fellow friends after a very2 long hiatus

and wow~

i nearly forgot how much fun this hobby was.

and i managed to keep up with non cs drift cars in a large track

felt like i achieve something great LOL

considering i havent played it for a while now..

more people are gaining interest in cs now, which is very good

(hope one day we would have our first cs only drift comp. here in Brunei)

Finally got myself a 180sx rear light lower metal panel, thx Shahrill :D

originally warna oren(eee..), so ku spray warna F.Black, buat sementara waktu ja.. Took a bit of time fitting it..but looks ok =)

all i need now is the center garnish, which is bloody expensive..

sprayed the license plate holder flat black, which i first sanded it with 600grit sandpaper beforehand. Look much better

My second half of 2010 was a blast..
